DENVER--Credit unions are not reporting any damage from the Colorado wildfires that have destroyed more than 1,000 homes just north of Denver.
But there is concern for members, and credit unions are lining up to drive donations for those affected.
The Mountain West Credit Union Association reported it has not yet received news of a CU office that has been directly affected by the blazes.
CUs raising funds:
- CUAid, a program of the National Credit Union Foundation has been activated to assist credit union employees and volunteers directly impacted by the disaster. The Mountain West Credit Union Foundation said it it providing a matching grant, up to $50,000, of monies donated. To donate to this fund, click here.
- Elevations Credit Union and its Elevations Foundation have committed to match donations made to the Elevations Foundation Fire Relief Fund, up to $200,000. To donate click here.
- Premier Members CU is working to ensure the safety of their members and employees. They are encouraging donations to the Community Foundation of Boulder County, the league reported. To donate click here.
- Blue FCU's Blue Foundation is accepting donations. To donate click here.
- Canvas Credit Union is encouraging donations to the Canvas Foundation, where funds will benefit the American Red Cross. Canvas CU will be matching all funds collected up to $200,000.
