BISMARCK, N.D.—Across the country yesterday, credit union representatives had lunch for the credit union cause.
In this case it was part of the “Lunch Local” campaign, a cash mob aimed at showing support by credit unions for locally owned small businesses. In this market, for instance, the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas supported the Bismarck Deli & Sandwich Shop. Michigan credit unions, along with CUs in other states, were also active in the effort, which is designed to take place during International Credit Union Week. Social media, including the hashtag #culunchlocal, has been a big part of the campaign.
