COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.– Two CUs are working to draw more attention to National Cybersecurity Awareness Month during October, including one CU that is staging weekly giveaways.
Ent Credit Union said its effort is designed to educate, entertain and reward participants via online weekly quizzes and activities. The five-week giveaway is open to the public as well as credit union members.
“Cybercriminals are out there all the time. Fortunately, one of the best ways to protect yourself is also one of the easiest. Use strong usernames and passwords – and keep them unique to each site you’re on,” said Scott Perry, Ent Credit Union information security manager, in a statement.
Ent added that through its giveaway learning to be safe online can be very rewarding. The more someone participates in the giveaway, the more chances they have to win. Each week participants will be entered into the corresponding week’s prize drawing for:
- Oct. 4: One Apple iPad
- Oct. 11: One $250 Best Buy gift certificate
- Oct. 17 – One $140 Identify Fraud Protection service subscription
- Oct. 25 – One $250 Best Buy gift certificate
- Nov. 1 – Two $250 Animal Shelter Adoption or Services gift certificates
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a global effort co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Ent said it is joining with more than 1,000 NCSAM organizations across the country dedicated to promoting a safer, more secure and more trusted Internet.
