LONDON–Credit unions in the United Kingdom are reporting strong performance in 2017.
According to the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL), the results are “an encouraging sign of the sector’s growth potential – allowing credit unions to enhance the financial health of more people across the U.K.”
After citing a number of individual CUs for their performance, ABCUL CEO Mark Lyonette said, “News like this from credit unions across the country is a fantastic way to start the new year. Credit unions have huge potential to grow and meet the needs of more and more people across the country...”
In the U.K, credit unions have gotten strong support over the past year from Prince Charles and especially his wife, Carmilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
