SEATAC, Wash./TIGARD, Ore./BOISE, Idaho–Credit unions in the Pacific Northwest have donated $334,421 to regional Children’s Miracle Network hospitals following the October “Run for the Roses” auction. The auction took place at the Northwest Credit Union Association’s 2017 MAXX Convention.
“Every dollar makes a difference in comforting children and their families, and in helping the hospitals to do their amazing work,” said Holly Miller, Project Manager for the NWCUA. “Our member credit unions hold events throughout the year to support their local children’s hospitals, and we are pleased to host the auction each year in collaboration with them.”
Credit Unions for Kids originated in the Northwest in 1986, when a group of Oregon and Southwest Washington credit unions began raising money for local children’s hospitals. Their model was adopted nationally ten years later, and Credit Unions for Kids has since donated more than $170 million to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals, the NWCUA adopted.
