WASHINGTON—After experiencing a “cyber incident” that had CUNA sending staff home on Monday, the trade association is now reporting its systems have been restored.
As CUToday.info reported, CUNA staff were back at work on Tuesday following an incident sources told CUToday.info could be a malware attack that shut down many of CUNA’s systems.
CUNA did not confirm or deny whether malware was the culprit in a previous statement to CUToday.info.
“CUNA is currently addressing a cyber incident that recently caused an outage affecting some of our IT systems. Once we discovered the incident, we immediately initiated an investigation with the assistance of third-party experts and are taking steps to remediate the issue,” stated Vicki Christner, vice president of strategic communications, Tuesday.
In a new statement, Christner said systems have been restored.
“CUNA addressed a cyber incident that caused an outage affecting some of our IT systems. We have restored access to our website and online resources for all leagues and members,” Christner said.
CUNA president and CEO Jim Nussle made a similar statement to CUs on CUNA’s website.
