ALEXANDRIA, Va.—CUNA’s Small Credit Union Committee conducted a call with NCUA Board Member Todd Harper to discuss the “unique challenges” being faced by small credit unions during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We thank Board Member Harper for his time…and for listening to the many ways small credit unions around the country continue to work with members to help get them through this pandemic,” said Tom Sakash, CUNA’s manager of small credit union initiatives. “Small credit unions know how to fight, and while this crisis is putting substantial strain on the leaders of these small institutions, I have no doubt that they will meet this challenge head on and overcome just as they always do.”
CUNA said it has also been in touch with leaders from several small credit unions around the country regarding how they are changing and adapting their operations to continue to meet member needs while protecting employees and following public health guidelines.
