WASHINGTON—CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle has been named a top association lobbyist for 2017 by The Hill.
“The former House Budget Committee chairman is a big reason why credit unions exert such influence on financial regulations,” The Hill noted in its description of Nussle.
Nussle has made The Hill’s list in the association category since taking over the helm of CUNA in 2014.
CUNA noted that among its 2017 advocacy priorities are reducing the regulatory burden for credit unions; expanding credit union powers, such as business lending; enhancing payments security and preserving the credit union tax status.
The Hill's list of top lobbyists is created based on conversations with aides, other lobbyists and members of Congress.

NAFCU’s Dan Berger and Brad Thaler also made the listing.
