WASHINGTON–The biggest event in credit unions, CUNA’s annual Governmental Affairs Conference, will be back as an in-person event in 2022.
The meeting, to be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington Feb. 27-March 3, 2022, went virtual for the first time in its history earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We look forward to welcoming credit union advocates back to Washington, D.C. This conference is invaluable to the credit union movement. It is the one time each year when we come together to advocate, learn, and network in meaningful ways,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “When we meet again in-person in 2022, we want all who wish to attend to be able to do so safely.”
Added CUNA Chief Products and Services Officer Todd Spiczenski, “Our most recent CUNA GAC proved that we can adapt well to the digital environment, but the true power behind the GAC has always been all of us—CUNA, leagues, credit unions, and system supporters—coming together. The pandemic has changed the meetings and events landscape considerably. Our job is to adapt and to create an unforgettable experience that strives to keep everyone safe.”
The meeting annually attracts between 4,000 and 5,000 people.
