MADISON, Wis.–CUNA’s Small Credit Union Initiative has launched a project that is collecting “success stories” from smaller CUs in order to share those strategies with each other.
Tom Sakash, manager of Small Credit Union Initiatives with the trade group said each year the Small Credit Union Committee endeavors to offer a new resource that addresses a significant challenge facing small credit unions.
“This year the group wanted to focus on identifying success stories across the country of small credit unions that are doing extremely well and how they're going about,” said Sakash. “The focus of the group is to collect stories from small credit unions where they've executed a specific business strategy (that was successful).”
Scholarships to GAC
Sakash said the committee will also select the best entries, with those submitting the chosen stories receiving full scholarships to attend CUNA’s 2024 GAC.
“We hope that will incentivize more credit unions to participate,” said Sakash. “We think that this alternate resource would be really powerful and showcase the different ways that small credit unions can continue to be successful across the country.”
