WASHINGTON—CUNA reported that its PAC, the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), finished the 2013-2014 election cycle with a record $4.43 million, a 13% increase over the 2011-2012 total of $3.9 million. It is now starting the 2014-15 election cycle with $464,000 available.
Overall, CUNA said nearly $6 million was spent this election cycle by CUNA and CULAC, including more than $3 million in direct contributions in 396 races.
In a press call with reporters, CUNA’s Trey Hawkins said that in the most recent races 96% of the candidates CUNA supported won their races.
“We remain the most bipartisan of the organizations in the top 10 (PACs),” said CUNA’s Richard Gose.
