WASHINGTON–Representatives of both CUNA and NAFCU were named among the top top association lobbyists for 2018 by The Hill, a daily newspaper covering Congress and Washington.
NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler were both named to the list. This is the 16th consecutive year that Berger has been named to the list and the 11th year for Thaler.
"I'm proud to say that NAFCU, since its establishment more than 50 years ago, continues to stay true to its original mission of lobbying for a legislative and regulatory environment that helps credit unions grow," Berger said. "Our government affairs team works daily to maintain the strong relationships they have built with policymakers in Washington, and our credit union members ensure lawmakers and regulators understand the impacts their laws and rules have on their daily operations.”
Also included on the list were CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle and Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan. This is the fifth consecutive year Nussle, a former member of Congress, has appeared on the list.
Nussle and Donovan were recognized because they “have demonstrated their ability to wield influence and deliver results on Capitol Hill and in the administration on behalf of clients and groups seeking a voice in Washington.”
Nussle joined CUNA in September 2014 and appeared on the top lobbyists list released later that fall. Donovan joined CUNA in September 2007 and has served as chief advocacy officer since January 2015.
