MADISON, Wis.–CUNA Mutual Group and CU Leadership Convention are hosting a two-part COVID-19 Recession Webinar series, with the first webinar taking place today.
“The COVID-19 Recession and its Impact on Credit Unions”, a no-cost webinar series presented through credit union Leadership Convention, will be held on Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, April 30 at 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
During today’s event, credit unions can find out how the COVID-19 pandemic will impact the economy, financial sector, labor market, U.S. interest rates and ultimately credit union balance sheet and earnings performance through 2020 and 2021, according to CUNA Mutual.
Steve Rick, director and chief economist with the company, will analyze and establish standards against which a credit union’s performance can be measured. He’ll identify trends of savings and loan activity and weigh the influence of future economic events on growth patterns into 2021.
April 30 Event
The April 30 webinar will feature Tim Harrington of TEAM Resources, who will show how credit unions can respond to the COVID-19 economic impact. “Based on Steve's economic outlook, Tim will give practical guidance to help control the balance sheet, manage the income statement and minimize losses,” CUNA Mutual said.
