CUNA Mutual Group Named To Distinguished Wisconsin 75 List

MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group has been honored as a recipient of a Distinguished Performer Award for Community as part of Deloitte’s “Wisconsin 75” program.

The annual list recognizes the state’s largest private companies and showcases their impact on Wisconsin’s economy and communities. A recognition breakfast was held at Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee to honor the 75 companies. 

“We are truly honored to be recognized as a Distinguished Performer for Community and a part of Deloitte’s Wisconsin 75,” said Robert N. Trunzo, CEO and president, CUNA Mutual Group. “This award is a testament to our employees who exemplify what it means to give back, supporting causes that strengthen our communities and the lives of the people who live in them.”

CUNA Mutual Group said its employees and corporate foundation play a major role in Madison and the surrounding communities through sponsorships and grants, strategic leadership support, employee volunteerism and advocacy. The company focuses on four large community campaigns each year, including United Way, JDRF, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and March of Dimes.

During 2015, CUNA Mutual Group employees volunteered more than 5,000 hours at numerous organizations across all of the company’s office locations, including Waverly, Iowa, Dallas/Fort Worth, Great Bend, Kan., as well as remote staff and the Madison area.

CUNA Mutual Group reported it hosts or sponsors more than 75 local nonprofit events each year. The company pledged $1.2 million for the Madison Metropolitan School District’s “Forward Madison” initiative to address the racial achievement gap, and is the second-largest corporate donor to United Way of Dane County.
