MADISON, Wis.–The CUNA Lending Council is reporting it will award $150,000 in Next Level Executive Scholarships to allow “rising credit union lending leaders” the opportunity to attend its upcoming annual conference, set for Nov. 12-15 in Denver.
According to the Lending Council, the Next Level Executive Scholarship aims to encourage emerging talent within credit union lending by connecting them with the resources and peers at the conference and through the Council, “resulting in more informed and effective leaders.”
The scholarships offer $3,000 towards travel and fees associated with attending the conference. Existing Lending Council members will be given preference, but non-members who are selected will have a membership covered through their scholarship, the Council added.
Scholarships for Smaller CUs
Five separate needs-based scholarships for existing Lending Council members from small credit unions will also be granted.
“Our hope is that, with this support, we can keep the best and brightest lenders within the credit union industry,” said Lending Council Chair Ethan Nelson, VP-administration with Oregon Community Credit Union. “The knowledge and connections they can gain at the conference and by being part of the Lending Council network are invaluable.”
