NEW YORK–The CUNA Finance Council named Alan Wade, EVP/CFP with Member One FCU, as its 2019 Volunteer of the Year at the Council’s 25th Annual Conference here.
Wade, who joined the CUNA Finance Council 26 years ago, is the organization’s longest-serving member. He was first elected to the Executive Committee in 2000, and has been secretary/treasurer and Conference Committee Chair during his tenure, and also served on the Scholarship Committee. He currently serves on the Membership Committee. As Conference Committee Chair, Wade brought the Council’s annual gathering to the city of Williamsburg, in his home state of Virginia, the Council noted.
“I am grateful to receive this recognition and even more grateful for the many professional relationships I have cultivated as a member of the CUNA Finance Council,” said Wade. “As long as we stay focused on the real reason that credit unions exist—to serve our members—then I believe the Finance Council has a very bright future indeed, and it is my honor to continue playing a part in it.”
