CUNA, Councils Announce White Paper, Lending Roundtable, Speakers And More

MADISON, Wis.-CUNA and the CUNA Councils have announced new white papers, a 2017 Business Lending Roundtable, speakers for an upcoming conference, and more.

The announcements include:

New White Paper

The CUNA Operations Sales & Service Council has published a new white paper, "Journey Mapping: Paths to Exceptional Member Experiences."

According to the Council, for credit unions searching for “moments of truth” in the quest toward excellent member service, journey mapping is a highly recommended tool, helping determine how members use the credit union, what members truly want, and how they wish to receive those services. Journey mapping helps credit unions plan, implement, sunset, and adjust various products and services, touchpoints, and other areas of operation.

This white paper shares examples of credit unions using journey mapping to “get into members’ minds” and deliver the experiences they’re seeking, the Council said.

Key concepts include:

• Understanding journey mapping and its role in member experience

• Exploring the role journey mapping plays in member experience

• Taking action and applying the results of the journey map

• Choosing to outsource or work in-house

• Garnering support for journey mapping

Second Business Lending Roundtable Scheduled
CUNA announced it will host a second CUNA Business Lending Roundtable Feb. 7-8 in Tempe, Ariz. Facilitated by credit union business lending experts, the roundtable is designed to foster a wide-ranging, issue-oriented discussion on the state of modern credit union business lending, CUNA said.

In lieu of traditional lecture-based sessions, the roundtable directly engages attendees in open-ended conversations on prominent business lending issues.

The program’s agenda will cover a broad range of topics, CUNA said, including:

  • NCUA rule change on member business lending with National Credit Union Administration Senior Credit Specialist Vincent Vieten
  • Business loan program growth strategies
  • Expanding business loan offerings
  • Differentiating business loans from competition

In addition to the in-depth conversations, attendees will be able to ask business lending experts direct questions during Q+A panels and take part in networking sessions with their peers.

39 CCME Designations Earned

Finally, CUNA announced that 39 credit union professionals earned the Certified Credit Union Marketing Executive designation at this year’s CUNA Marketing Management School in Austin, Texas. Attendees earned the designation after completing the three-year program and passing the CUCME exam.

“Earning the CUCME designation is no small feat; these 39 professionals have invested countless hours and incredible amounts of energy into the program, and they deserve serious commendation” said Ariel Bilskey, instructional design manager at CUNA. “These designees now have the knowledge they need to drive their marketing strategies and make a greater impact on consumers.”
