CUES’ Pembroke Named Among Wisconsin’s 42 Most Influential Black Leaders

John Pembroke

MADISON, Wis.— John Pembroke, president and CEO of CUES, has been named one of Wisconsin’s 42 Most Influential Black Leaders by Madsion365, a nonprofit online news outlet.

CUES noted that since joining the organization in May 2013, Pembroke has helped launch a new direction in CUES’ strategy, branding and culture. Most recently, he led the initiative for CUES new membership structure, designed to better serve the needs of its members in educating and developing credit union CEOs, executives, directors and future leaders, CUES said.

“It’s humbling to be recognized as an influencer, especially outside of our industry,” said Pembroke, “I’m a devoted advocate for innovation and growth and encourage others to challenge themselves to reach their full potential. Being recognized as leader in the African-American community as role model for future leaders, is a great personal achievement for me.”

Pembroke has more than 25 years of experience in branding and financial services. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the board of the Goodman Community Center.
