CUES Names Individual Award Winners, Hall of Fame Inductees

MADISON, Wis.— CUES has named the winners of its annual individual awards as well as its Class of 2020 Hall of Fame inductees.

All will be honored during a special online celebration on Nov. 19, immediately after Knowledge & Networking November, CUES’ online conference experience, wraps at 5 p.m. ET.

Recognized by CUES were:

  • Ricky Otey, EVP/chief operations officer with Sharonview FCU in Indian Land, S.C., who was named the 2020 CUES Exceptional Leader. “This award recognizes an industry professional who has rendered exceptional service and made outstanding contributions to strengthen their credit union and the industry,” CUES said.
  • Garth Warner, president/CEO of Servus Credit Union in Edmonton, Alberta, who was named CUES Outstanding Chief Executive. “This award recognizes outstanding leaders at the CEO level who display professional achievement, support employee motivation, and are dedicated to their community,” CUES said.
  • Linda Carver, board member with American First CU in Ogden, Utah, who was named CUES Distinguished Director. “This honor is presented to a credit union board or committee member whose achievements have strengthened their credit union,” CUES said.

Hall of Fame Inductees

Meanwhile, CUES also named the inductees into its CUES Hall of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their contributions to their profession and the industry, involvement in community service, education and a history of self-improvement, and contributions to CUES.

Entering the CUES Hall of Fame in 2020 are:

  • Stuart Ramsey, CUES board chair, November 2018–July 2020; retired president/CEO, Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla.
  • Maurice Smith, president/CEO, Local Government Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C.
