CU’s Site Is Hacked, Members Greeted With New Message

ODESSA, Texas—Complex Community FCU’s website was attacked by hackers.

When members tried to access the site early in the morning, they saw a black screen with a message from the hacker stating: “Mr. Kro0oz.305 was here,” NewsWest9.com reported.

Staff spotted the message when they arrived at work at took the site down.

"The first move was to take down the website and make sure that everything was secure and we could figure out exactly what happened," CU spokesperson Lisa Wyman told the news station.

The website is back operating and no members’ money was taken, the CU reported.

Saying its website should be thought of as kind of a newspaper, Wyman told the news outlet, “It tells you where our branches are, when we're open. There's some blogs on there and some good information and it's a portal by which a member can actually get to their account but the account information does not actually exist on the website," Wyman told NewsWest9.com.

"We actually have our website housed in a different state on a different set of servers particularly for this reason. To make sure that if something ever did happen to the newspaper side of our operation, that member information is completely secure," Wyman said.

The CU continues to investigate the attack.
