SACRAMENTO–It’s hard to miss the Golden 1 Credit Union’s name and logo at the newly opened Golden 1 Center here, home to the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.
The $557-million downtown sports arena features the world’s largest high-definition screen in the center of the building, on top of which appears the credit union’s name and logo.
As CUToday.info reported, Golden 1 purchased naming rights to the arena for a reported $6 million a year for 20 years. The credit union recently announced that its members will be eligible for discounts on Kings tickets and merchandise, as well as other benefits.
Members of The Golden 1 also received first look at the new arena when the credit union hosted a free, members-only open house. The building officially opened with a concert by Paul McCartney on Oct. 4.
