JACKSON, Mich. — Employees at American 1 Credit Union here put their own spin on Black Friday by rewarding people with cash for shopping locally.
Over the course of Black Friday, CU staff members handed 60 people envelopes containing $50, along with a thanks from the credit union for keeping their money in the local community. According to the credit union, the “Random Act of Holiday Community” was aimed at educating residents on the importance of keeping dollars in the Jackson community by rewarding people on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
