SAN DIEGO—The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl now has its first team: Navy.
Navy’s win over the weekend against South Alabama qualified the team for an invitation to the credit union-sponsored bowl, which will be played here Dec. 23 at Qualcomm Stadium. Navy will pay an as-yet-to-be-identified opponent from the Mountain West Conference in the game, which is broadcast by ESPN. Navy has played in the Poinsettia Bowl on four previous occasions. Navy is 6-5 with its traditional game against Army remaining.
