CU Pride Says It Is ‘Redefining’ DEI as Discipline, Engagement & Investment as Part of Pride Month

BOULDER CITY, Nev.–CU Pride said it has chosen “redefining DEI” as the theme for CU Pride Month in June.

The organization said that while DEI traditionally means diversity, equity and inclusion, in this case it represents discipline, engagement and investment, or, “DEI Redefined!”

“We want credit union DEI strategies to be heard above the detractors in the world and have done so by focusing on building a culture of inclusion and belonging,” Zach Christensen, executive director of CU Pride, said in a statement. “When motivation dies, then discipline must take over, engagement is required at every moment for every person, and investment of not just money, but of time and talent, is essential from our credit union executives and leadership.”

According to the organization, this year CU Pride Month will bring together credit union leadership and experts to further expand on the ideas of the discipline, engagement, and investment “required to stay on track and remain relevant for members and future talent.”

It said it will also have perspectives from the board members and others offering transgender and non-binary voices through employee resource groups, and more.

Additional Information

“And the 4th Annual CU Pride Leadership Conference will bring in CEOs and executives to demonstrate their commitment to discipline, engagement, and investment and how you as leaders and organizations can strengthen your culture strategies,” CU Pride added.

Those interested in more information can register for all six CU Pride Month events, including the CU Pride Leadership Conference.
