COLUMBUS, Ohio–CME FCU here joined with the NBC4 Morning Team to surprise one viewer at her door with a check for $10,000.
Jessica McClain of Columbus was the winner of the NBC4 “Pay Down Your Debt Contest.” McClain, a single mother of a two-year old girl, works full time and has been trying to pay down debt from hospital bills, loans, and other debts.
“It’s going to be huge,” said McClain during the broadcast. “It’s going to be our fresh start.”
NBC4 and CME Federal Credit Union reported that thousands of entries were received. Entrants were required to describe how $10,000 would make a difference in their lives.
CME’s SVP/CFO Brian Warner called CME’s involvement with the contest “a great way to give back to the community we serve. CME’s mission is to serve and enhance members’ financial lives, and we hope that by paying down this young lady’s debt, we are making a difference in her future.”
