CU Employee Allegedly Posed As FBI Agent, Attempted to Enter Home

Gannon LeBlanc

NASHUA, N.H.—An employee of MIT Federal Credit Union here, armed with a loaded gun, knife, stun gun, rope, restraints and other items, has been arrested in an alleged plot to get inside a Massachusetts home by posing as an FBI agent.

Police allege that Gannon LeBlanc, 23, knocked on the door of an Arlington home wearing an FBI hat and told the residents that he was looking for a wanted fugitive. He then tried to get inside by asking to use the bathroom, but the homeowners refused and called police, WMUR.com reported.

Police found LeBlanc a short time later waiting at a nearby bus station. The homeowner was able to identify him as the man claiming to be an FBI agent at their door.

WMUR reported that officers located an illegal stun gun in his front left pocket, a loaded Smith and Wesson 38 Special handgun in his backpack, along with a black hat with FBI lettering on the front.

Authorities said they do not believe it was a random attack. LeBlanc also had allegedly written down the names, addresses, and salaries of four credit union members, WMUR reported.

LeBlanc’s defense attorney said his client had the items in his backpack because he was planning on going camping, and said he knocked on the door because he had to use the restroom, the news station reported.
