DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – In the wake of the shooting at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 students dead, IBM Southeast Employees Credit Union said it has made an anonymous donation to the Stoneman Douglas Victims’ Fund.
Donations to the Stoneman Douglas Victims’ Fund will provide financial support to the victims and families of “this horrific tragedy,” the credit union said.
The donation was made by the Southeast Credit Union Foundation Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission is to improve the lives of children and families in the communities it serves.
The high school is approximately 23 miles from the credit union’s headquarters.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the students and families of the victims of this horrific shooting,” said Michael Miller, president and CEO at IBMSECU stated. Coming together to help our community is extremely important to us. We are all about ‘People Helping People’ and we extend our deepest sympathy with everyone affected by the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.”
