LAS VEGAS—CU Direct recognized five credit unions with honors during the company’s Drive ’15 conference here.
Recognized with Best Practices Award were:
- In the category of Business Development, the $358-million Alliance Credit Union in San Jose, Calif.
- In the category of Portfolio Management, the $312-million Jax FCU, Jacksonville, Fla.
- In the category of Marketing to Members, the $543-million Centris FCU, Omaha, Neb.
Also honored were the $2.7-billion Summit CU, Madison, Wis., and $8.3-billion Security Service FCU, San Antonio, both of which were presented with the CU Direct Diamond Award, for their continued success in advancing their lending programs and championing the importance of a credit union-owned delivery channel.
“These award recipients are to be commended for the efforts they have put into their lending programs and the resulting success,” stated Tony Boutelle, president and CEO of CU Direct. “Their accomplishments provide all of our credit unions with the strategies and best practices that will contribute to the overall value and success of their lending programs.”
CU Direct’s 2016 Drive Conference will be held week of May 16th, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis & Marina in San Diego, California.
Also during the meeting CU Direct announced the results of its board and officer elections. CU Direct’s shareholders re-elected Donna Bland, president and CEO of Golden 1 Credit Union, Sterling Nielsen, president and CEO of Mountain America Credit Union, and Brett Martinez, president and CEO of Redwood Credit Union, to new three-year board terms.
CU Direct’s board of directors elected Jeff March, CEO of Citadel FCU, as the company’s new chairman during its officers election. March has served on CU Direct’s board since 2008. Nader Moghaddam, president and CEO of Financial Partners Credit Union, was elected vice chairman, while Keith Sultemeier, president and CEO, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, was elected the board’s secretary and treasurer.
During the company’s shareholder’s meeting, CU Direct’s president and CEO, Tony Boutelle, along with the board of directors, recognized outgoing chairman, John Lund, president and CEO of America First, for his leadership, dedication and distinguished service as chairman of the board from 2013-2015.
“CU Direct wishes to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation for your leadership, guidance, and outstanding service as chairman,” said Boutelle of Lund. Lund remains a director on CU Direct’s board, which he has served on since 2005.
Dianna Dykstra, president and CEO of the California/Nevada Credit Union League, was also acknowledged during the company’s shareholders meeting. Dykstra, fondly regarded as the “mother of CU Direct,” served on the company’s board for 17 years, serving as chairman from 2003 to 2005. “We thank Dianna for her visionary guidance, superior leadership, and dedication to our company over three decades,” stated Boutelle.
Also serving on CU Direct’s board of directors are: Jim Laffoon, president and CEO, Security Service Federal Credit Union; Benson Porter, president and CEO, BECU; and Chuck Purvis, president & CEO, Coastal Federal Credit Union.
