LENEXA, Kan.–CommunityAmerica Credit Union here is crediting television commercials featuring the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback for boosting its checking account volume.
A new TV ad featuring QB Patrick Mahomes appeared several times during the Chiefs recent preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. But Mahomes also appeared in TV spots last season during which he was featured throwing a ball to a groundskeeper at the team’s home field, Arrowhead Stadium.
The $2.8-billion CommunityAmerica CU told the Kansas City Star that last year’s commercial helped it surpass its target for new checking accounts by 16%.
Now Mahomes is appearing in a spot titled “A New Day” in which he is shown addressing his teammates. That video is intercut with scenes of life events, such as a couple moving into a home, a woman opening a coffee shop and a man beginning retirement. The spot can be viewed here.
“Everyone knows KC is on the rise,” Mahomes says to his teammates, “but what they don’t know, is we’re just getting started.”
Mahomes concludes the spot by saying, “CommunityAmerica: Powering the rise of Kansas City.”
