BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich.–Honor Credit Union here is reporting it generated $500,000 in new loans through a social media campaign.
The $700-million HCU said it used Chatter Yak!, an Oshkosh, Wis.-based CUSO specializing in marketing, advertising and social media consulting, to drive the results. The credit union has been using Yak Tracker since March 2015.
Honor Credit Union’s most recent campaign, which ran through the month of August, netted 28 booked loans, a total of half a million dollars in loans. Utilizing email and social media the credit union was able to engage members and drive leads through the Yak Tracker tool, the company reported. The staff worked with members and non-members who had shown interest in various loans to discuss various products and services with the credit union.
“As a cooperative, our CUSO exists to help our credit union clients succeed and I think it is quite clear from their results that they have experienced great success,” said Bryce Roth, Chatter Yak! president. Roth added that a strategic approach to social media marketing is increasingly important to a balanced loan generation approach, and through Yak Tracker credit unions have found success. “Not capitalizing on the leads that can be found through social media can only be seen as lost revenue and lost opportunities to maintain relevancy with members.”
