NEW YORK–A Credit Union Capital Markets Symposium that will be hosted at the New York Stock Exchange by NCUA Board Member Rodney Hood is now just three weeks away.
The event is scheduled for April 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to a brief announcement from the agency, the event will share insights from top lawmakers and experts on industry hot topics, including liquidity risks, the current interest rate ceiling, and use cases for subordinated debt and secondary capital.
According to NCUA, speakers will include Michelle Bowman, board governor with the Federal Reserve, and Rostin Behnam, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

NCUA said topics will include:
- Balance Sheet Management Tools. “A keynote speaker and panel of experts will explore various balance sheet management tools and strategies available to credit unions, including asset securitization, loan participations and pools, and subordinated debt.”
- Interest Rate Risk Management. “A keynote speaker and panel of experts will discuss the interest rate risk credit unions are facing, and various tools, like derivatives, that can be effectively used to manage this risk.”
- Liquidity Risk Management. “A keynote speaker and panel of experts will explore the current economic environment’s affect on liquidity and tools and techniques credit unions can use to manage this risk.”
