ASHWAUBENON, Wis.–Capital Credit Union has purchased the former Sparknet building on West Main Avenue here for $6 million and plans to move into it by early 2019.
The credit union said the building will give it the room it needs to consolidate operations it houses in its current headquarters and another facility in Kimberly, Wis. Plans call for opening a new branch in the four-story, 69,700-square-foot building sometime in early 2019, according to CCU.
CEO Tom Young told local media Capital CU plans to sell its Kimberly building after the move is made.
CCU had initially planned to build a new facility next to its current headquarters, before opting for the building previously owned by Sparknet, an Internet and mobile app development firm.
Capital CU is currently gathering bids for the renovation work it is planning for the building, which currently has an open-air office layout.
