CU Branch Manager Allegedly Attempted to Hire Hit Man

HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y.–A credit union branch manager who has been called “evil” by her own family has been placed on administrative leave after being implicated in a murder-for-hire plot.

Reshma Massarone, 39, manager of a branch of Mid Hudson Valley FCU, allegedly attempted to hire a hitman in July after having been engaged in a civil litigation case with her brother-in-law about a restraining order she had attempted to take out against him, according to the New York Post.

Massarone, called “evil” by her family, according to the report, had allegedly offered an unidentified friend $10,000 to kill her brother-in-law while he was on a family trip to their native country of Guyana.

‘Take Care of Business’

“According to court documents, Massarone messaged the potential hitman on Facebook: 'You take care of business and you be a rich man’,” the Post reported. “At that point, she allegedly wired $2,500 to the person, who said he would set up the hit to look like a robbery gone sideways. What happened instead, however, was that a day before the assassination was set to unfold, the person told the intended target about the plot. The pair then went to the U.S. embassy, where they spoke to authorities.”

The Post report stated Massarone had an “ongoing civil litigation matter pending in New York,” and that the “attempted hit job unfolded after several months of infighting between Massarone and her family, who believe she tried to exploit a dying relative by taking out an insurance policy on her.”

Earlier Attempts to Sue CU

According to the New York Post, Massarone has dealt with the New York court system before on several occasions, and that twice in the past two years she has sued the credit union that employed her, claiming she was racially discriminated against while working there.

Both cases were dismissed by judges.

In this case, a judge ordered she be held without bail “based on danger to the community,” the Post reported, adding that Mid-Hudson Valley Credit Union said Massarone has been placed on administrative leave.
