CU ATMs Stolen in 2 Different States

DAYTON, Nev.–Credit union ATMs have been stolen in two different states, with arrests made in one case.

At the branch of Greater Nevada CU, recently around 2 a.m., authorities said one or more individuals stole a trailer containing a piece of construction equipment from the lot of a construction company and used it to rip an ATM machine from the ground, placing it on the trailer.

The suspect or suspects then left the construction equipment behind and drove the trailer away containing the stolen ATM.

No arrests have been made.

Separately, in a small community in southeast Alaska, two mean have been charged with stealing an ATM from a branch of Tongass FCU.

David Natkong-Carle, 31, has charged with burglary, felony theft and criminal mischief, according to Alaska State Troopers. William Carle, 24, has been charged with felony theft and criminal mischief.

According to police, the two mean stole the ATM and caused $5,000 in damage to the building in the process. Police said an  outpouring of tips led to the arrests.
