WASHINGTON—CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger has been added to the agenda of NAFCU’s approaching Congressional Caucus. Kraninger is scheduled to discuss the agency’s current efforts and priorities.

Kraninger will be joining a speaker line-up that also includes NCUA Board Chairman Rodney Hood and Board Member Todd Harper, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mark Calabria, and President Donald Trump's Acting Chief of Staff and Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Mick Mulvaney.

Registration for NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, happening Sept. 8-11, is still open and those who have registered are encouraged to use NAFCU's Hill visit form for assistance scheduling appointments with members of Congress, the trade group said.

As CUToday.info reported, in April, Kraninger – who also serves as chair of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council – outlined her vision for the Bureau in a speech, indicating that it will place greater emphasis on preventing bad behaviors within the financial services industry.

The Bureau is currently considering proposed changes to the definition of a qualified mortgage under the Truth in Lending Act and to certain aspects of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act – including transactional and institutional reporting thresholds and data collection and reporting requirements – as well as a potential rule related to third-party debt collectors.
