CFPB Withdraws Proposal to Delay Debt Collection Rules

WASHINGTON—The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has withdrawn its April proposal to delay the effective dates of its debt collection rules by 60 days.

The rules will become effective Nov. 30, the delay would have pushed effective dates to January 2022.

CUNA noted it has called for the rule to be implemented as finalized by previous CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger.
