CFPB Schedules Town Hall for May 8; Agenda Not Yet Released

PHILADELPHIA–The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has scheduled a town hall meeting here May 8 that will include Director Kathleen Kraninger.

The CFPB said the town hall will also include comments from community groups, industry representatives and members of the public. The event will also be broadcast live online.

The agency has not released any details around whether there will be a specific focus to the event. Prior to announcing the town hall, the CFPB did said it planned during 2019 to hold a series of meetings on “consumer protection topics,” potentially including clarification around the definition of “abusive acts” under Section 1031 of the Dodd-Frank Act.

The May 8 town hall is to begin at noon ET.
