MOUNT VERNON, Ohio —The $224-million CES Credit Union here has named Mike Copley president and chief executive officer, the organization announced.
Copley steps into the role following the planned retirement in late 2025 of Sandy Coffing, who has served the Mount Vernon-based credit union for more than 30 years, including over a decade as CEO.
Coffing’s retirement caps a long tenure marked by strategic growth and enhanced member services, the credit union said, and the board expressed its gratitude for her leadership as she begins her next chapter. With Copley’s appointment, CES leadership emphasized continuity and momentum.
Board Chair Jeff Wells said the board has deep confidence in Copley’s abilities.
“Having worked with Mike over the years, we have known him to be very dedicated to CES and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. We look forward to working with him for the continued success of our Credit Union for many years to come,” he said.
Since joining CES Credit Union in 2011, Copley has held a series of leadership roles, most recently as chief operations officer where he oversaw daily operations, branch performance, member experience, compliance and key organizational initiatives. Earlier in his career at CES, he served as service center manager, building member relationships and supporting teams through periods of growth and change
