ROCHESTER, N.Y.–David Vigren, one of the only CEOs to ever lead a conversion to a credit union charter, has died. Mr. Vigren was 76.
Vigren, who had been treasurer with the Eastman Kodak Co. before being named president of Eastman Savings in Loan, led the mutually chartered S&L when it made the rare move to convert to a credit union charter in 1996.
Vigren retired from what today is known as ESL Federal Credit union in 2003.
Today, the $6.3-billion ESL FCU has approximately 347,000 members.
