CEFCU CEO Glenn South Passes

ROSELLE PARK, N.J.--Glenn South, CEO of County Educators FCU here, has died.

Mr. South passed away Thursday waiting for a liver and kidney transplant at NYU Transplant Center in New York City, the New Jersey CU League reported.

Mr. South was the CEO of County Educators for over 20 years, working at the credit union for 28 years. He was also treasurer of Symbionce Financial Solutions, LLC, a mortgage CUSO based in New Jersey.

Prior to that, he had been a senior consultant to the New Jersey Credit Union League and a 1996 graduate of CUNA Management School in Madison, Wis., and Ryder University. He served many years as a director of the NJCUL.

Mr. South has received multiple awards for his service to the credit union industry. He was also an ambassador to the World Council of Credit Unions and helped charter many credit unions in Russia.

Mr. South leaves behind his wife, Ann South, president/CEO of Novartis Federal Credit Union, in East Hanover, N.J., and his son Matt (wife Lana) and grandson Matthew.

The league said Mr. South’s final wish was for everyone to celebrate his life together at special luncheon, which will be held Tuesday April 4, at noon at the Galloping Hill Golf Club.
