CAP COM FCU, Supermarket Chain Partnering To Feed Families On Thanksgiving

ALBANY, N.Y.–CAP COM Federal Credit Union is partnering with Hannaford Supermarkets to feed 350 families this Thanksgiving. For the past six years, Hannaford Supermarkets has generously supported the CAP COM Cares Foundation’s Sharing the Harvest Thanksgiving program, the credit union said.

The supermarket donates all non-perishable food including stuffing, gravy, and canned vegetables, as well as bread and pies. The Foundation raises funds throughout the year to purchase fresh turkeys from Hannaford to complete the meals.

“This incredible partnership is one we can count every year. We know that when it comes to alleviating hunger in our region, Hannaford Supermarkets is a loyal friend to those in need,” said Amanda Goyer, CAP COM’s Community Relations Manager. “We are very thankful for their annual support.”

‘Time to Reflect’

“Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all that we have and give back to our community. Hannaford is pleased to partner with CAP COM Federal Credit Union and its partner agencies on this annual initiative,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Community Relations Specialist Brian Fabre. “We are pleased to provide healthy, fresh and delicious ingredients to families, and hope this contribution brings comfort and happiness to those in need in our community this Thanksgiving.”

Nearly 50 employee-volunteers from CAP COM will help pack and deliver bags the week of Thanksgiving to 23 local organizations in our community. Among the organizations that will receive meals are YWCA-GCR, Commission on Economic Opportunity, The Ronald McDonald House, Visiting Nurses and St. Catherine’s Center for Children.
