WESTBROOK, Maine–Maine’s credit unions are again sponsoring the “Bucks for Books” initiative aimed at college students.
The Maine league reported that its Young & Free Maine Spokesmen, Jake Holmes, has a new video posted at youngfreemaine.com, explaining the 2017 contest and how college students can win a share of $1,500 towards textbooks. The contest runs through Sept. 19.
"The 2016 Bucks for Books was wildly successful with a 44% increase in entries last year. The contest is a great way to connect credit unions with college students. I am really excited to generate a lot of entries and excitement this year," Holmes was quoted by the Maine league as saying.
According to the MCUL, in the coming weeks, Holmes will be talking about Bucks for Books and encouraging entries on various media outlets, including TV interviews.
Maine credit unions are also encouraged to promote the Bucks for Books contest through their social media channels, website, etc., according to the league. The MCUL said a total of $1,500 will be given away including a Bonus Bucks Battle for $500 that requires entrants to follow the campaign on Instagram, then post a photo of at their school and tag it with #Bucks4BooksME your college textbooks/
