MILWAUKEE, Wis.–The new Fiserv Forum won’t be an online discussion group for credit unions talking technology. Instead, it will be the future home of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.
The company has bought the naming rights to the new $524-million arena being built to house the team in downtown Milwaukee. The facility will be called Fiserv Forum. Financial terms of the 25-year deal were not disclosed.
The arena, to open Aug. 26, will also be the home court of Marquette University men’s basketball and a variety of concerts and entertainment acts.
“We are excited to partner with the Milwaukee Bucks to create an unprecedented opportunity to elevate our brand as one of the world’s leading providers of financial technology and payment services,” said Jeff Yabuki, president and chief executive officer of Fiserv, in a statement. “We also expect this arrangement to further differentiate our brand in support of our purpose of delivering value and excellence to our clients every day.”
Fiserv, which is headquartered in Brookfield, Wis., has been searching for a new location for a corporate location and said it has narrowed its search to three locations in the Milwaukee area.
The new facility will become the latest NBA arena with a tie to credit unions. The Sacramento Kings play their home games in the Golden 1 Center, named after the Golden 1 Credit Union, which purchased naming rights.
