Bragg Mutual FCU Expands FOM in North, South Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.– Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union said it has been approved by NCUA to expand its field of membership to serve 301 census tracts, or 26 counties in North Carolina and seven in South Carolina.

The credit union, chartered in 1952, had previously been limited to serving Cumberland and Harnett counties in North Carolina.

Over the past three years, BMFCU said it has also seen growth to $96 million from $66.1 million in assets, a 43.8% increase.

“We are very excited to help hundreds of thousands of Carolinians with not just checking, savings and loans, but financial guidance and one-on-one coaching,” said Bragg Mutual CEO Stephen J. Foley. “At Bragg Mutual, we have some of the highest rated customer service in the industry and can offer people with a broader range of financial tools and products.”

Bragg Mutual said it offers access to more than 30,000 ATMs and 5,000 shared branches nationwide, as well as a debit card Round-Up feature in which purchases can be rounded up to the nearest dollar, with the difference deposited straight into the member’s savings account.

The credit union has more than 9,400 members.
