Bowman’s Fed Nomination Moves Forward After Narrow Committee Vote

Michelle Bowman

WASHINGTON--The Senate Banking Committee voted 13-11 along party lines today to advance the nomination of Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman for vice chair for supervision.

The committee also approved five additional nominees.

President Trump nominated Bowman to succeed Fed Governor Michael Barr in the role. At her April confirmation hearing, Bowman emphasized her intent to refocus bank supervision and reinstate regulatory tailoring if confirmed, the ABA Banking Journal said.

The nomination now moves to the full Senate for consideration.
