WASHINGTON—Michelle W. Bowman has been sworn in as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
The oath of office was administered by Chairman Jerome H. Powell in the Board Room. Bowman was accompanied by her husband and her two children.
The Senate had earlier voted 64-34 to confirm Bowman to the Federal Reserve's board. Ahead of the vote, Bowman had offered support of reducing the regulatory burden facing community-based financial institutions by better tailoring regulations.
The Fed still has two vacancies on its seven-member board; Marvin Goodfriend is still pending before the Senate.
