LONGVIEW, Wash.–Bob Kane, the former CEO of Red Canoe Credit Union here, has died, following complications from a stroke. Mr. Kane was 69.
Kane joined the credit union, then known as Weyerhaeuser Employees CU, as a loan interviewer in 1972 and was named CEO in 1991. He retired in 2009.
“All of us here at Red Canoe are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our beloved former CEO and friend, Bob Kane,” current CEO David Spaulding said in a statement published by The Daily News. “Bob was a gentle and kind leader who loved his job, loved his employees and loved our members. We’re all so grateful to have had Bob in our lives, and we will deeply, deeply miss his friendship.”
