CHEYENNE, Wyo.–Blue Federal Credit Union has broken ground on a new headquarters building in the Cole Shopping Center. The groundbreaking included fireworks and live music.
The plans for a corporate headquarters campus was unveiled in November of 2018, beginning with the demolition of the old Safeway building. Construction is scheduled to be completed in December of 2020.
“We are thrilled that the wait is over and we can get started to build our world headquarters in a place we all call home,” said CEO Stephanie Teubner. “The vision I share with the board of directors and our executive leadership team is to build a unique work environment where we work hard, have fun and win for our members.”
According to Blue Federal Credit Union, the eight-acre, “campus-style” property will include the headquarters building, a new branch location and retail space. Community facilities and open outdoor space will be incorporated into the plan as well. The main building on the campus will house approximately 170 employees, with a capacity up to 400 as the company grows, the credit union said,
The new office will consolidate backoffice employees now spread among five local branches.
The $1-billion Blue FCU has approximately 84,000 members.
