Black Hills FCU Becomes Founding Partner of The Monument Events Center

RAPID CITY, S.D.–Black Hills FCU said it has become a “Founding Partner” of The Monument, formerly known as the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Monument is a 500,000-square-foot exhibition center, in Rapid City.  It is the main vent center for the Black Hills Region, serving western South Dakota, southwest North Dakota, northwest Nebraska, and eastern Wyoming, according to the Dakotas Credit Union Association.

The partnership with The Monument includes providing BHFCU ATM and ITM services throughout the existing facility and new Summit Arena, the association said. Event guests will have convenient access to their funds, while BHFCU members will have access to tellers during extended business hours, it added.

“We are committed to improving lives in the communities we serve, and we see The Monument as an important investment in the future of Rapid City,” said Jerry Schmidt, BHFCU’s president and CEO, according to the Dakotas Association. “A project of this significance requires the support of businesses and individuals, working together toward a long-term goal.  The combined efforts of all stakeholders have created a strong and sustainable economic driver that will enhance our community and the surrounding area for decades to come.”

‘Immediately Saw the Connection’

“When the opportunity to become The Monument’s exclusive financial partner was presented to us, we immediately saw the connection to our mission to improve lives and our passion for service,” added Carol Brown, VP of marketing and business development.  “We are to help bring new opportunities and cultural experiences to those we serve.”

The $1.9-billion Black Hills FCU has more than 80,000 members.
