BETHPAGE, N.Y.–Bethpage Credit Union has made its first expansion out of state.
The $13.1-billion Bethpage CU has opened a branch in Cherry Hill, N.J., its first location out of state as part of an expansion the credit union described as part of its greater growth strategy in the tri-state area.
Bethpage CU now has 35 branches.
According to the credit union, the Cherry Hill branch has a smaller footprint, similar to the branches recently opened in Ozone Park, N.Y., and Sunnyside, N.Y.
As part of the opening, Bethpage said it is inviting the Cherry Hill community to participate in the “Bethpage Difference Makers” program, where a child or youth group (e.g., after school program, community group, sports team, school club) can apply for financial support.
“The program aims to empower young individuals to come together and become more involved by linking their passions with the need of local communities,” Bethpage Credit Union said.
Sustainable Materials Used
The credit union added the Cherry Hill branch was built with sustainability in mind, using recycled materials and custom, pre-fabricated, modular designs, providing additional benefits to the communities during and after construction. All unit materials including lumber, millwork, and laminate used for the construction are UL Greenguard Gold Standard certified with low VOC content and emissions as well as New York City MEA Approved, the CU said.
